Elegant gilt bronze sculpture depicting a Pierrot musician, signed on the base “E. Favart”, late 19th to early 20th century.
The figure is shown standing in a lively theatrical pose, holding a guitar or mandolin-like instrument. The expressive face, ruffled collar, buttoned costume and refined decorative details give the piece a charming Belle Époque / Commedia dell’Arte character.
The sculpture is made in gilt bronze, with a warm golden patina and natural age-related wear to the surface. The base is signed, apparently “E. Favart”, although the artist has not been fully identified.
