Chinese Jade Pagoda Incense Burner
Chinese carved jade pagoda-form incense burner, 20th century.
This finely carved decorative piece is designed in the form of a traditional Chinese temple or pagoda, with a removable tiered roof and an architectural body richly worked with openwork details. The composition features carved columns, roof tiles, stylised floral and foliate decoration, guardian-like figures and temple-inspired architectural motifs.
The green jade stone shows attractive natural variations, with lighter and darker tones running through the surface, giving the piece depth and character. The removable upper section reveals a hollow interior, suggesting its possible use as an incense burner, covered vessel or decorative temple-form container.
A highly decorative Asian art object, ideal for collectors of Chinese jade, hardstone carvings, incense burners or oriental decorative pieces. Its sculptural presence makes it suitable for display on a console, cabinet, library shelf or collector’s interior.
The piece is in good vintage condition, with light age-related wear consistent with age and use.
